How noise canceling headphones work?
for Christmas, I have some good pair of headphones. without batteries, it sounded as if the low I was a little too high. but I have only batteries today, and the sound ... ... that much! I could hear the difference, not playing music. simply put, and hearing my background. turn it ... i heard almost nothing. my question is, how they work. How do I cancel outside noise?
work using an op amp and two microphones. One microphone is fed to the + side of the operational amplifier and the microphone is fed by others to one side - the operational amplifier. The operational amplifier sums the result and cancel the offending noise.

In the apartment next to mine they play noisy shot 'em up games all day. I would like to be able to watch TV quietly, so I was wondering if there were any noice canceling headphones that might be able to get rid of most of the sound.
