this is a 5 day listing. you are bidding on a vintage mcintosh mc240 power tube amplifier in excellent condition. this single owner mcintosh 240 was originally purchased in 1961. we have the original estimated bill of sales (their custom stereo system cost over $2500 in 1961!) which will be provided to the buyer. This was cherished by the original owner (a los angeles doctor) and its current condition shows it! this amplifier was completely serviced and re tubed and re capped at a cost of over $900 in 2008 bringing it back top like new condition. (original service receipt will be provided to the buyer) this classic mcintosh amplifier is ready to go for decades to come!! this stunning piece shows only very minor wear from gentle use as pictured. the chrome is in great condition with only superficial wear. i have not cleaned or plosihed the chrome, i am selling it in as found untouched condition. it is marked 3p035 as pictured which i believe is the serial number. the lettering on the control panel is primarily all intact as pictured with only minor wear from normal use. it features the original tube cage as well as all of the original knobs power cord etc. i'm not sure if they were originally present but there are no screws that fasten the tube cage to the amplifier. one of the power transformers has a very tiny ding on the top there are some minor nicks to the paint on the others but nothing very notable - this is clearly pictured in image 16. this is a beautiful example of this highly collectible tube amplifier. it will be an excellent addition to the home of any vintage tube amp enthusiast! please note i am not an expert on tube amplifiers but i will do my best to answer any questions you may have regarding this piece. this will be very meticulously packaged (with the tubes removed and [packaged in an entirely separate box) for shipping to the high bidder. shipping with full insurance via fedex will be $65. for local los angeles buyers this item is available for viewing/pickup at our home in long beach, ca. buyers that live in the state of california must pay 9.75% stae sales tax on their purchase. please email with any specific questions. **we do not offer second chance offers for our items. if you are contacted regarding a second chance offer for one of our items it is a scam and should be reported to ebay**
