Counterpoint SA-100
"Hybrid"100 Watt Power Amplifier
"Needs Repair"
Here is a previously owned Counterpoint, SA-100 that I had rebuilt/upgraded to the Natural Progression, NP-100 by Alta Vista Audio a few years ago. It has a new, upgraded "Plitron" Toroidal Transformer and 2 new matched Sovtek 6SL7GT vacuum tubes and a few other mods that they do in rebuilding/upgrading this amp. I paid over $1800.00 for this amp new back in the late 80's plus another $900.00 plus for the upgrade a few years ago. This has been a great sounding amp for many years but has recently quit working, it blows a fuse for one channel when powered up. I hate to sell it but I just can't afford to have it repaired at this time. You can use it for parts or have it repaired. I'm not sure what the problem is and it may be something very minor or possibly not. You can check out the company that upgrades this amp at, www.altavistaaudio.com , the owner worked at Counterpoint and designed this amp so he knows them well and is still doing upgrade rebuilds with lots of satisfied customers.
