These amps have had one owner from new. As was the norm back then their owner bought one and a mono 22 pre amp and then a little while later added another II and moved up to a stereo 22.They're in very good cosmetic condition, their owner was a sober sort of fellow and looked after his equipment - it was expensive and it was treated with respect. There are a few marks on the transformer cans but there often is. It's not too difficult to strip and repaint the chassis, I believe some people in internet world offer replacement stickers with the valve names on them.They're in perfect working order, I had the pleasure of listening to them using the stereo Quad 22 I'm also selling today and they were lovely. They have a big, warm upfront sound perfect for vocals and with lots of that "valve magic" that makes people go a little misty eyed. It's funny, they sounded much "valvier" than the single ended triodes I sold a couple of weeks ago! They were on for around 2 hours and didn't misbehave in any way. The KT66s have a nice warm (well, hot!) glow, they look great when they're fired up as you can see in two of my pictures.All the valves are vintage British. The KT66s are Marconi and the others are Mullard. I can't tell you how much use they've had but when I listened to them they didn't make any of the wrong sort of noise, just sweet music like they were intended to make.Hopefully the pictures and text give you answers to any questions you may have but if not please get in touch.Yes, I'll ship overseas.
