For Sale, Used McIntosh MC431 Car Power Amplier. Ser. # KG 4495
Comes with owners manual but missing a couple screws on the end plates that are easily replaced from any hardware store. A few nicks and scratches but in overall good condition.
I've had this sitting in my garage for a few years now and have decided that it's best that I pass it on to someone else to appreciate. The reason I never installed this was because I originally wanted to put it in my wife's car but decided she wouldn't appreciate it. I just never wanted to let go of it. I can assure you that it was working fine when I got it and I care for my belongings very well. But since electronics can have issues because of sitting too long, I will not accept returns. (Oxidation, etc.) And I unfortunately really don't have the time to pull my system apart to test it. Regardless, to get the most out of it, I would recommend sending it in to the factory to have it refurbished for about $100 as I did for my other MC431 amp when I got it 5 years ago. Then you will know that it is running at top performance, like new. Their tel # is (607)584-4023. Just a little trick I learned as an enthusiast who buys used equipment : ) I'm an honest guy and if there are any problems, I will work with you to get it resolved. But just to be clear, ONLY if repairs need to be made. NOT servicing.
I have another identical MC431 which I installed in my car running Dynaudio speakers all around. I have not been dissapointed at all. I can turn it up as loud as my ears can take it and there is no distortion. But what really counts, and the reason why these amps have won so many SQ competitions is that a good amp running clean current to good speakers it will sound much better than lesser amps. With 0.005% Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), this is real audiofile equipment. McIntosh is pure quality Made in the USA and they know what features to include. I drive about 20K miles a year and ALWAYS have my music on. I have been so happy with it that I bought this one I am selling here.
