Fisher SA-1000 Tube Stereo Power Amplifier tested and working. Both left and right channels have clean, equal output. This particular amp is part of my own personal collection. At one time I was an avid collector of audio equipment. Unfortunately, I never got to use my collected treasures so in addition to the usual equipment I sell I am offering one or two pieces from my own collection every week. The only time I listen to music now a days is while driving in the car so up for auction they go. This particular unit is complete with cage, it even has the yellow quality control tag hanging from the power cord. The original owner who I acquired this unit from had it serviced about 25 years ago where the tubes were replaced with Amperex, GE, and RCA vintage NOS tubes. All switches, controls, inputs, outputs, meter & lamp, jewel lamp, etc. work as they should. Worth mentioning is the spring loaded door which hides the seldom used controls is totally intact and functioning. To open the door one has to push down slightly and disengage the latch, same when closing the compartment. As stated, this one is a survivor where the original owner understood how to use his equipment. As far as cosmetics there is some edge wear on the transformer covers and a very small flat spot on one of the back corners. There are some marks here and there but nothing one would call objectionable or offensive. This one really is a beauty in both appearance and sound. Chassis is excellent and all decorative knob caps are in place. Due to the age of this amplifier, and a long period of non-use it has to be checked out by a technician qualified in vintage tube electronics. It works as stated but this unit is around fifty years old. Capacitors, tubes, and other components were not meant to last two life times regardless of their original quality. This unit has to be gone over before extended use for reliability, etc. With that stated although this unit works 100% as stated it is being sold for restoration and is offered "as is." Shipping cost for this extremely massive amplifier includes packing/handling/and insurance. This unit will be shipped in TWO separate boxes. One box which will include the amplifier, and the other box will consist of the cage and tubes. As previously stated, this unit is Extremely heavy and I will take the proper steps to make sure it arrives to your doorstep intact. Please look at the photos included in this auction.
