Dynaco ST - 70 Power AmplifierPerfect Condition - Includes Power CableVTA Upgrade - Comes with DocumentationI am selling a Dynaco ST- 70 amp that I have modified with the VTA70 PCB classic HI-gain 12AT7 version ( a $140 value by itself) with upgraded caps for better sound quality. The original ST-70 sounded good but I knew that it could be better and that the problem resided in the input stage. The VTA upgrade is the finest upgrade you can get for this great amp and I went ahead and installed it. The music improvement was Amazing! the depth of the sound stage, the images opened up, the clarity was that of $4000+ amps and the power delivery especially to the low end was incredible. I measured the freq response and it was clearly able to pass signals up to 70 kHz with good accuracy. I have covered the board so that you do not accidentally electricute yourself ( no other upgrade has this protection.!)About the top: The bias trim pots are on the board and you can see them next to the tubes. This is a much better implementation then the original St-70 because it lets you bias each tube to .40 V. About the back: I have replaced the power cord with a higher quality connection and better fuse/switch interface so that when you do switch the amp on it does what a good amp is suppose to do: work well! Amp is set to 4 ohm load but can be switched to 8ohm very easily. About the Tubes: I purchased the tubes about 6 mo ago. They have about 50 hrs of use on them. The EL's are Tung-Sol EL34B bought from TudeDepot and matched and the 12At7's are EH.I was not planning on selling this amp and that is why I bought new tubes but due to financial issues I need to sell parts of my music system to pay off bills. Condition: Used, perfect condition, All tubes are less then 6 mo old.(about 50 hrs of play time), amp has no damage and no major wear. Shipping: $36.00 USD, continental USA only.
